break crowd. how much money would be needed for a single person to eat drink and be merry? were pretty young so we can ruff it quite a bit would 500
dollars be enough spending cash? any tips for first time travellers? any info would be appreciated. thanks much!!!!

Just where is your hometown? Are you driving or fly'in? As you decide where you are look at the photo section here at the forums for location awareness.

INSURANCE
Get insurance before crossing border - ins. cost depends on van - we paid about 60$ for a 4 day policy on a 2005 dodge rental van - gas is higher in
MX - overall cost is lower - have a great trip !!!!!!

Camp out in a tent most of the time and $500 will be fine.

San Felipe then. Yes...get insurance for the car (go on line). If you read all the posts in Q&A and General , you'll be data enriched! Not sure if
spring break starts there, if it has....good luck! Feel free to move into Bajalou's extra room. Oh,,,you can find beer to polar bears in San Felipe.
Be nice at the Military check points. They WILL look into your cra coming and going. Give em a cold one AS you leave.

Estero Beach campgrounds-Nice facilities. Pricey. Close to town.
El Faro-Cheaper. Close to town.
Punta Cabras- Great camping. No facilities. 2 hours south of Ensenada. Free. Coyote Cals youth hotel in Erindera if you want a roof over your head.
San Felipe- You can throw yourself into the spring break mehem or drive south out of town and get away from the craziness. 5 hours from San Diego.

If you`re going to San Felipe you don`t even need to carry that much. Just take your ATM card.
And if I was a young whippersnapper on Spring Break, I couldn`t get to San Felipe fast enough!!!! And for a little getaway from there-- Puerticitos
hot springs-- about 60 miles!! Or for a more remote camp-- Guadelupe Canyon (also has hot springs).
San Felipe + Spring Break for student = 50 years of memories !!!!
Yikkkkes.......... I just realized something!!! My daughter met her future husband there!!!! So maybe more than 50 years of memories!!!
