spear fishing/sling

First timer that will be camping and spearfishing along the way south to Guerrero Negro....snorkeling off shore and using Kayak. Do you need a fishing lic? Can you bring a sling or speargun into Mexico?? If kayaks need to be registered where do you go for paperwork?
Thanks in advance...this a great site!

I can tell you that kayaks need to be registered (licensed) if you are fishing off of it. There others here will fill you in on the other data you are requesting. Have fun, and carry two spare tires!

hunting fish

Bob---Yes you can bring slings and "banded" guns into mexico, no pneumatic guns. A fishing license is required and you can hunt and shoot fish anywhere that fishing is allowed. Since you will be north of GR I would recommend a 5mil wet suit with booties, gloves and hood that way you will be comfortable in the water as it is always colder under the water than on the surface. I do not know where you live but here in san diego fishing and boat licenses can be had at the mexican fisheries office or most good tackle shops. What size guns will you be using as that will determine what size game you can go after. There is some very good hunting to be had with the right equipment. Any more questions, just ask----fishin rich
