Recommendations for family

Have a family of three looking for a rec on where to stay in the greater Ensenada area for a few days in October. We'll venture to the wineries, but are looking to stay on the water. Which towns should we look at? Quieter the better. Any specific recommendations? Thanks.

We've stayed at some great places in San Miguel through Air BnB. Both were oceanfront with great views and just steps to the beach. Bonus if anyone in the family surfs as there is a great point break there.

There are rentals available at Las Gaviotas - privately owned homes in the Rosarito area on Descanso Bay. Not far for day trips to Ruta de Vino and Ensenada.

If the wine country is your goal, and waterfront is the other prerequisite, the best deal out there is California Hotel in El Sauzal. Book rooms 15 and 16 for water front rooms. The Valle is 10 minutes away. Downtown Ensenada is 5 minutes away 646 174 6033 http://www.motel-california.com

That is a good suggestion Udo! I stayed there two years ago after they did the remodel and it was pretty nice. I believe the non-oceanfront rooms were about $65.

You are right, Geoff!

Hey, that is what comes from experience once living in the Ensenada area.
