Hotel Hacienda Mulege safe parking?
We drive to Todos every year and always do Jardines first night and stay the next night in San Ignacio before the last day drive from there to Todos.
The last day drive is doable but a little long and I was thinking about staying in Mulege. I will be driving one ton pickup and towing a small
trailer. Can I find easy, safe parking at La Hacienda?

We have parked our truck and boat full of camping gear etc. both on the street and in the back lot with no problems at all.

They have a rolling gate & you could ask Cero if it could be closed the night you are there ( I think they do it nightly? ) You can walk to most
eateries from there & a small but adequate pool to cool off in & a great courtyard.. Has worked for me many times in the past...

There's Mulege Hotel on the left as you drive in. Drive in through the entrance to the quad, look around, and, if you like it get a room.
The gate is locked at night. When I leave to return to the US I leave at 5:00a and there's a buzzer by the gate. The office is open 24 hours.
No pool and the rate is about 45 dollars. No pets.
What I'm doing at work is so secret, even I don't know what I'm doing!
One should believe in God, because even Google doesn't know everything.

Hotel Hacienda Mulege closes the rear gate at night. Half the rooms overlook the parking area, ask for one of those.
Hotel Mulege is also good, cheaper than stated above and they except some pets.
Cuesta Real, 2 kg south of town, has parking in front of the rooms.
Serenida also has secure parking.

Thanks for all the good feedback. Any strong recommendation for hotel in Mulege....easy in and out secure parking, clean and A/C. Dog can sleep in
truck.

Easiest in and out Serenaded plus they except dogs.

The choice of hotel really depends on what you want to do in Mulege and your "style". We often stay at La Hacienda as we like just walking around town
to eat and shop etc. plus I like the courtyard, great low price, nice beds & AC, good wifi and nice owners but tricky if you are towing a boat or
trailer.
We also really like Cuesta Real as it is real quiet, economical and clean but a bit far to town but nice for walking along the river.

Shari makes a good point re: backing out of Hacienda parking lot with a trailer...I have parked loaded pickup at Hacienda many times over the years
and never had anything disappear (moto stuff and gear)...and also agree that Mulege is a pretty safe town....unless impaired and trying to negotiate
curbs when returning to hotel ....
Mulege motel by arch has a bigger lot that would be better for turn-around rather than backing up w/ trailer.
I always prefer the Hacienda generally speaking.
 and they "accept" dogs...they don't "except" them ....

My 80+ pound dog was 'accepted' at The Hacienda, and I agreed to keep her on a leash while in the courtyard. They have a resident cat, which my girl
would give a wide berth any way, but we had no other issues.
A nice thing about the location for those traveling with dogs, is the close access to the river if you want to go for a walk. There is a path down
through the vacant lot across from the parking area, or an alley a little further to the east.
I visited just before, and just after last Thanksgiving, and there were plenty of rooms available at that time.

Mulege has new curbs and sidewalks, just for you! Almost Osha approved, open manhole covers etc, almost ADA approved, utility poles in middle of
sidewalks and one in the middle of the road and 30% grade ramps, but all in all, much safer now and a visual improvement. Hacienda parking lot will
not be full now, so easy in easy out. But if the bus tours are there, stay at the Hotel Mulege, cuz haceinda will be rockin till the wee hours.

i forgot to mention that one needs to check to see if there will be an event in the Cancha next to La Hacienda...especially on SAturdays as there can
be insanely loud music till 3 in the morning...at least! Buyer beware! I check at the store on the corner as sometimes the management may not want to
tell you.

Actually, I had plenty of light. It was a high curb, poor depth perception thing. It took weeks for the tender spot on the back of my head to go
away!
And no alcohol was involved!
