I can't mister chip....I made the whole thing up. I fabricated the story and photoshopped the pictures, even making it a 4 door just to peak
interest.
I apologize for ruining your day, now go back to whatever it is you do and pretend this never happened.

You guys ever driven these 3rd world toyotas?
They are pretty rustic.
I'll stick to cushy USA-spec 4runners, fords, etc.
But if you want a rustic utilitarian small farm truck, then go for it.
Woke!

You did make it all up!
The link in your post has nothing/zip/nada about importing new to USA.
Btw, you can import such new vehicles, but it cost a small fortune to make it pass DOT/EPA requirements.
If you really want a kidney-busting non-compliant Toyota, import a 25+ year old vehicle, spend 5 or 10 k rebuilding it, and you Bob's your uncle!
Woke!

whoopsee, here I thought the offroad community would find it fun to speculate on
the possibility of having a badazz V8 turbo diesel toyota in the stable but nooooo.....instead I just angered a couple of the troops, who probably
aren't offroad enthusiast's anyway.
here's a blog with 40 comments, read em and you'll know what I know.

came across this on the T4R site: "There's a whole thread on Mud about this. To legally have a 79 series in the U.S. you would need to first buy
and import several trucks, pay the government 150% of their value to insure you will legalize them, destroy several trucks crash testing and emissions
testing, then have a registered importer/dealer modify the truck within 120 days to meet all the requirements. This guy claims he has done all this,
but has blatantly lied several times and seems very secretive about the whole thing.
If he proves himself it will be quite interesting, Motorex legalized the Nissan R33 a while back, but then got shut down after trying to pass R34s as
an R33. I'm sure it would be a logistical nightmare to deal with all the bureaucracy.
The 79 series Landcruiser is a fantastic truck with the 4.5 turbo diesel. In my opinion one of the last old school, high quality, dependable and
rugged Toyota's, much more so than any U.S. market Toyota."
never say never!
and don't discount goats offroad credentials, when he's not extreme mountaineering he's rockin' the 4runner mall crawler, bet it has heated seats

No seat warmers in my 4runner!
maybe I'll get seat warmers when I am old and cold like you!
willy, your coldness might be due to poor circulation due to a bad ticker - go see your doctor!

The best ever utility SUV I have seen in foreign markets is the original Land Rover. They are literally indestructible, and can be still repaired by
almost anyone.
