Bahia Asuncion Fishing & Party Report!
October is the start of our busy season here in Asuncion as the snowbirds begin to return and the fishing turns on. It is also a happy month as the
lobster season begins injecting much needed dinero into the local economy that suffers through the summer months. Finally our ocean temps cooled off
this year and the lobster season has much improved over the last few years.
Our fishing season really takes off now too with a wide open yellowtail bite! Fish are bigger than usual for this time of year...most in the 25-35lb
range at the moment and some wahoo & marlin spotted too.
here is that fish the next day ready for the smoker
We have had some fun Nomad meal gatherings lately too....here are some famous friends! Baja Blanca, dtbushpilot, rossman, DanD,etc
check out this new baja rig for camping and kayaking our amigos designed and had made....suits them perfectly!
the kayak & paddleboard fishermen have been happy with the great bite close to shore.
and pitaya season is upon us which means yummy pitaya margaritas!
there is a new taco stand now open at the "Y" with fantastic food and much more than just tacos...also stuffed potatoes, ceviche and they are open at
6 for the fishing crowd to chow down. You may recognize Chikkiringi from being a waiter, bartender and cook at Keykos....a very ummm...colourful
character which makes going to his new place fun!
so stop in for a visit next time you are in the hood!

Now THAT'S exciting !!!!!
I'm trying to make it down your way within a month.
Question ?
What has Juan been getting the tails with ?
Trolling, jigs or live bait ?

We never use live bait and depending on the day and area the YT chew on exrap magnum 30's of the mackeral flavour while trolling and bring LOTS of
salas 6X JUNIORS blue & white are the best and Juan is usually out of them.

So fun being in BEAUTIFUL Asuncion after so long!
Enjoy your plantita, Shari, it is called HAWORTHIA CYMBIFORMIS or cathedral window haworthia. I believe I got it in Vizcaino many moons ago.
Keep it under another plant if you can.
1. shade and 2. birds will peck at it for water

I look forward to visiting Bahia Asuncion with my group of Nissan Xterras in the Holiday season of 2019/2020.
We are looking at January 5th and 6th in 2020.
with 10 Rigs, for 2 nights.
Not sure on lodging yet but probably the campground.
Cheers

Everything looked OK. even the cat food, until I saw the Jimador. Gross...everything went down a notch

For heck sake, at least it wasn't Cuervo Gold
And it was used in mixed drinks.
Not to worry as I'm attending the Tequila Expo in Tijuana this weekend and will be bringing down the good stuff.....
Although , truth be told, it would be a sin to use the good stuff mixed....
So I'm perfectly fine with El Jimador

There must be a lot of disappointed locals and rancheros who have been eyeing Juan's Toyo pickup over the years.....
Better for your beach runs?
I sure am missing Asuncion ...
Don't believe everything you think....

travel in...we use the old pick up for the beach |

Don't understand why you folks don't like El Jimador Tequila ?? Just discovered it here in Canada and can actually sip it (no lime and salt bullchit)
and not much of a hangover so whats the problem?? What do you experienced Nomads recommend ???
