Furuno repair and Power wall

2 questions this morning.

Is there a Furuno Radar repair in La Paz?

Does anyone sell Powerwall solar systems in BCS?

Thanks.

I do not see an AUTHORIZED service center listed on the Furuno website.

You might try contacting Marina de La Paz and asking them where boaters have theirs sent. They have been there for a long time. It must have come up.

Is your display a CRT or an LCD?

I did find this article on troubleshooting Furuno radars. It's basic, but it may indicate what has gone wrong.

The problem with the radar is - that it is not turning.

I will contact Marina de lapaz. Jeez, you'd think I would have thought of that! :)

Thanks.

Are you able to supply power from a different source? Eliminate that, first. If possible, bypass the entire fuse assembly. Sometimes the fuse holder can have problems.

Assuming you have checked the inline fuse, there is usually a fuse inside the display, too. If the display is easily taken apart, check that, too.

Display lights up.
Will check the fuses and power supply suggestions in the morning.
Thanks.

If you cannot diagnose, call Rick Beck, recently retired owner of Honor Marine in San Diego, before you send it in for repair.

He still works on all of the Sport Boats in San Diego. Honor is a certified Furuno repair and dealer

I am sure he would not mind giving you some insight and maybe get you going by just a phone call.

Tell him Alan B gave you his number
619-921-3763

Hope he can help

Great. Thanks. Actually we got the radar going.
How: read the manual and followed the directions - correctly this time.

Lemme guess. Does your radar require you to hold down TWO buttons for at least 2 seconds?

And let it warm up a little before it starts to turn.

Yeah, my old 1712, which I recently sold, would take a FULL minute in standby before it would begin to operate. This was a 15 year old unit.

BTW, if anyone needs a radome for the Furuno 1712, I have one that works with very low hours. Someone wanted just the display, so I sold it. It is in Mexico, and I am not, right now.
