Alfonsina's Contact

Does anyone have a recent/active phone or e-mail to try and reserve space at Alfonsina's? We will be there the first week in April and will not have the option of camping. I've lost the phone # I had for Jauqin. Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

I emailed him 3X since December, never got a reply. So we took a run down pass there regardless, the motel had zero cars. We didnt stay afterall due to a disagreement with the host there. I posted his phone number and email somewhere here last December, try the search engine button (under the Webpage's header).

Thanks for the reply; but I had no luck with the search. We've been staying there off and on since the place had cardboard walls; cots; and a communal bathroom and only once have I received a return call to confirm; but usually Irma is pleasant and ole Jaquin would at least put on a happy face while you were spending money-what's changed? New people running it?

Was the Host Antonio? I heard a rumor tha Irma and Antonio were no longer there, this could explain the disagreement.

Let us know what happened.

Antonio was there Jan. 2, and treated us to free drinks for New Years... So his hospitality was pretty darn good then. He also asked me to autograph a new Viva Baja sticker to replace one that some person removed... I asked if Irma was returning, and he said yes...

Hey; it's "anonymous" here-going to register since this seems to be where the old "Amigos" have landed! I posted a request on another Baja board and NO ONE has responded in over a week. I've forwarded the phone #'s to our man who's rather fluent; so hope to hook up with someone at Alfonsina's. Is Coco still hanging in? We usually bring him some brandy. How badly has the rain messed up the "roads" up around Mike's Sky and Meling's?? Thanks again.

Joaquin Answered the Phone

Many thanks for the help from Corky1. The numbers he has listed here are valid should anyone else need to make contact.

We stayed there Feb. 25 & 26th. Coco called in for us to make sure we had a room. He had just come home from the hospital and seemed well. Antonio was our host and we were treated like family. Really enjoyed our time. Very few people and it was perfect hiking weather.

Not Surpized

Hello again-Jauquin was to confirm our "reservations" on Monday. Now his phone doesn't work anymore. Would anyone have the current # for the Casa Grande (tienda down the road)? That has worked in the past; but again the #'s seem to have changed. I am also trying to confirm that there is a reasonible chance we can make the run from Mike's Sky over to Meling's in a Suburban. A month ago we were told the "road" was impassible even on a motorcycle. Got a message from Mike's saying it's open. Anyone actually been there recently?? Thanks
