The only real place we've encountered race traffic is Ensenda. With the race going down the Cortez, you won't have any issues in San Quintin or El Rosario.

Let me expand,
I want to go when it's normal traffic...

During the time of the race ( before and after ) the roads will have to have MORE traffic as there is only the Mex 1 and Mex 5.

The support teams and people just into the whole thing ....

I normally head south two days after the start and have never had any traffic to speak about. This year I plan to cross on the 17th heading to San Ignacio

Monday Nov 20 is Revolution Day and many towns along highway 1 have parades that block traffic. Something to consider.

I'm just relating what I've experienced over the past 9 years of driving to Bahia Asuncion around the time of the race. This will be year number 10.:light:
