Would you take a Subaru on the pole line run?
I think this one would make it!
https://goldcountry.craigslist.org/cto/d/solid-axle-subaru-c...
It is located near me in Grass Valley, CA.

Looks like a mongrel to me judging by the description....
"Hey, Bubba....hold my beer and watch me get this stuck in the ditch... "
Your Kia can go anywhere and you proved that beyond question keeping up with dirtbikers between Mulege and San Juanico ....
Bailey might like more legroom, however
Don't believe everything you think....

At the Meling Ranch
A few years ago (cough, over twenty) we met a young French couple at the communal breakfast in the Great Dining room.
They had flown from Paris to San Diego and rented a Subaru subcompact which they had driven over the very rough road (at that time) and swollen stream
to make it to the ranch.
They informed us that they intended to go all the way to Cabo and leave the rental car at the airport there.
They made it because I got an email from them later, saying that they had a wonderful trip.

I think this car looks like fun! The only slight concern is the overheating issue. Other than that, it looks like a fun car. A little pricey, but
fun and practical. This Subaru gets my approval!

Subota....Toyaru...?
I drive by it almost every day, and it looks like it was well done!
Over heating, or head gasket problems? Since the ad says a new engine comes with it, it seems like it would be worth his while to swap it out.
Subaru has to be the easiest engine swap out there, it is pretty much the same boxer design that the old VW bugs used.

If I had the money, I would send him my Honda Pilot for the 4x4 treatment.

The Toyotas that I saw all over Barranquilla, Colombia had straight axles and came with stock winches and proper bumpers from the manufacturer.

Sure, why not?
It couldn't be any less reliable than all the Jeeps that attempt it and break down. They all make it back...........eventually.

I wish I knew what you mean only thing I
can think of. Who cares if your vehicle looses the identity of the manufacturer.

I was thinking that after so many mods.the vehicle is no longer what it was originally designed for.being no stranger to specialty designed vehicles.
I worked for ARDCO back in the 60s. they designed and built special use vehicles using a lot of parts from all kinds of vehicles their equipment was
used all over the world in the oil exploration buisness.

Up until a couple years ago they were calling g trophy trucks Ford, Chevy etc. long after any stock parts were being used. Now I see them labeled as
Geiser, Jimco, etc. Wonder why the change? Maybe to give credit to the chassis builder?
