BREW PUBS...the list!....

There seems to be quite an expansion in this segment,, about time!

...Lets build a comprehensive list of BREWPUBS IN BAJA...(maybe I've missed it somewhere),,, or maybe this is the place!

...perhaps we can make a master list by town,, north to south,, copy the previous print from that town with your update...

Tijuana,,, Brewery name,,description of beers,, your review.....

Rosarito.......

Ensenada,,,,,, etc...

yehhh,, that's what whetted my appetite to the idea!

There's a few promotional articles online,, but nothing beats on-the-ground Nomad reviews. With such a boom in startups,, I'll bet some of the locations haven't fully sorted their quality... just like the brews themselves,, it's best to keep the reviews LIVE,, and updated. ;D

Like the idea of a list. List of recommended restaurants would be great, too.

here are some of the better ones I think

Bier Warehouse Ensenada (just west of the Smart and final)
https://www.facebook.com/BierWarehouse/
got beers from all over baja. Great place but should open earlier for us afternoon drinkers :)

Wendlandt Brew Pub Ensenada downtown next to starbucks and their brewery Sauzal (at turn off to Valle Guadalupe, go to the coast instead of east). Really good food at brew pub, but if you want just beer then go to Sauzal. Growler fills too.
http://wendlandt.com.mx/index.php/home/

Cerveceria Transpenensular. past harbor going north Ensenada. Great beer. First class brewery and brew pub and excellent beer. Bonus now they have an Allegro Burgers inside making great food like they do in Valle de Guadalupe (next to Ochentos.
http://ctbrews.com

Aguamala. Ensenada heading towards Sauzal. Little harder to find - look for structure with ocean containers stacked and the Virgin of Guadalupe by the door.
Cool atmosphere and their beers are being exported to US.
http://aguamala.com.mx

In TJ - one stop shopping at the Plaza Fiesta. The shopping complex across from "La Bola"
Tons of microbreweries and restaurants.
http://www.laweekly.com/restaurants/this-mall-of-nightclubs-...
my favs there are
Border Psycho Brewery borderpsychobrewery.com/

and Cerveza Insurgente http://cervezainsurgente.com/ big claim to fame is their Xocoveza collaboration with Stone

and last is El Norte Brewing. Just off of Revolution and 4th. Great view of the border. Beer names have a stripper type play on words. Housed in a parking structure on the 5th or 6th floor and "I've been told" it is in what once was the "Penthouse Strip Club". Great thing about it, you just park inside the "Foreign Club" parking structure head up right next to the brewery.

Yelp has ‘em all, and plots on a map, and has reviews to boot!
Go to yelp, search “Brew pubs” and town name.

Yelp. Really!? I'd rather hear real Nomad reviews rather than the fandroids on Yelp. I guess it can help fill things out.

....surely there's breweries south of Ensenada, no? :?:

There is not a craft beer pub from Ensenada to Cabo want to put in the infrastructure and import materials go for it . You can only hope Yelp will give it a good review

There are a few places south of Ensenada serving good ice cream, tacos and birria.
No local brews. You want fancy brew, then byob.

Only a Report, Not Experience

The guys at Surf Brewing in Rosarito told me that Blvd. Insurgentes in Tijuana was the place to go.

Also, a Funny Thing

You can buy Grey Goose Island IPA from Chicago at the 7-11 Pemex store just before the toll booths to Ensenada.

I'm surprised there's nothing in La Paz or some of the other areas with lotsa gringo's,, i guess they're happy with the standard fare,, certainly it does well, with lime, on a hot day.

It'd be interesting to see how favorable the laws are for a small operation ;)

Goose Island is a brand of Anheuser-Busch InBev

They are megabrew, not microbrew...

on the plus side, it is Union-made!

Todos Santos Brewing opened up just a few months ago. I've yet to check it out personally, but all 3 Yelp reviewers gave it 5/5! :bounce:
