Short Term FMTs?

Are they giving "short term" FMTs (5 days or less) at the San Yisidro IMS office?
My experience with this office is they are tough on FMT visas.
We have friends going to Guerero Negro next week to see the whales for one day.
Would it be better just to get them at the BCS border station?

FMTs

are for whatever length you want them to be up to 6 months.

But you bring up a good question that maybe someone else can answer.......if you are staying less than 7 days, do you still need to get an FMT?

On the mainland heading to San Carlos, I believe you dont need one for anything under 7 days. What about Baja?

I guess if they are going in to GN to stay, then maybe that is the easiest way. But usually SY is the simplest.
