Octavio's Camp, Puertecitos (Km. 74.5)
Tent-camped here 1 night with my dog. Planned to stay here 2 nights but the wind the next morning forced me to move back up to San Felipe. The beach
is secluded with large palapas & grill. Not difficult to drive regular car onto beach near palapa. Typical run-down bathrooms/showers. Located
at Playa Escondida in a cove so can be windy. My biggest complaint was the vehicles towing boats in the a.m. & p.m. and some noise from barking
dogs at night. 50 mxn/night/person

This looks nice... much better than Nachos Camp and way cheaper than the places at G Bay. Was that $50 peso quote for real? Thats a little less than
$3! Such a deal

Camping just so. of Puerticitos in Feb., 3 am, had to get up and
turn Toy Truck head into the wind, the thought crossed my mind
it could actually blow over. San Felipe panga fishermen are launching their boats in that area, that area Is apparently open
to fishing as opposed to the Cortez in front of San Felipe that
is closed

When it blows in that area it really blows, though it can be very nice at times. I just got back from campo 5 Islands (km 114 south of Isla
Huerfanito) yesterday and the weather was absolute perfection. However, the usually almost empty campo is now occupied by a bunch of fishermen. I
was told that gill net fishing is now prohibited in all waters north of Isla Muerto just offshore so the San Felipe panga fleet has moved south and
fish camps have sprung up any place you can launch a boat in that area. Supposedly the gill net ban will soon be extended all the way to Gonzaga.
Maybe soon they will all head further south and set up shop around Punta Final.
