Back from the race....

Went down Wednesday.....camped two days near mile 130.....preran the first half Thursday 6 hours...than the Matomi loop on Friday 5 hours...got to contingency at 3:15 pm for a short walk....then on to ZOO road before sunset....saw DESERT BULL (or at least his car ) pass by ...looking to be on a pace that would get him to the finish line...left to go home around noon...lots of broken cars heading back to town already.....40 minutes at the border....

Great show at contingency. Too bad the vendors haven"t reached come agreement with Customs so they can show up. Sorry I missed you on the Malacon - Met up with tunaeater and and the GRT team. Watched at about a mile N of Zoo Rd till 1100 went by, then off to RM130 Saw GRT's 574 car and local Geo. Jackson's 14 class car do a quick pit stop and met up with TW. Good race - what vehicles!!! Felt bad for car 1100, stock VW - less than 5 min late at the finish. I'm always rooting for these guys.

Listening to Weatherman and Score opps, sounded like quite a vew cars missed chekcpoint 3. It wasn't on the maps and they might have cut a corner there??

Great race day - waiting to hear the final results.

Tunaeater (Paul) said the 5-1600 car his crew pitted came in 4th... They were quite happy...

You guys should have joined us at Rudy's place Km. 43+ Sat. night. The moon rise was awesome... the Pacificos were ice cold, the tequila was fine, and the friendships were warm as the campfire.

We were on the outbound side of RM 130/ CP#2... Paul said you were by McMillan's on the inbound side... sorry we missed you!

Here's the Tunaeater GRT pit crew... Tunaeater is in the center... the moon has risen in the background...
