list of major festivals in baja?
Well Mardi Grass draws 250,000 visits in Ensenada.
The baja 1,000 is a big event in Ensenada.
Is not there another large off road car race starting in Ensenada?
I would think there are other large festivals up and down the Baja.
I guess they take semana santa off work, but is there a party? As far as I know, you have to go to Guatemala for a real easter week celebration.
What other festivals are out there? Can we keep it to major festivals, family oriented, places where children are safe, and not any wine and beer
tasting?
Does whale watching count as an event? Could be something spectacular and G rated.
What are the most wondrous yearly events?

The mission festivals are popular. I think San Javier and San Borja are two well known annual events.
When I am back on my pc, I will get more data unless others do.
OK, here is an old list of Fiestas:
June 21 San Luis Gonzaga
July 25 Santiago Apóstal
July 31 San Ignacio Loyola
Sept. 4 Santa Rosalía de Mulegé
Sept. 6 La Virgen de Loreto
Sept. 16 Independence Day (begins evening of 15th)
Oct. 10 San Borja
Nov. 15 Santa Gertrudis
Dec. 3 San Javier
Dec. 12 Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe

Carnaval in La Paz.
Starting tonight till Tuesday.
The Malecon is closed to vehicles 24/7.
Huge, fun, party. Family oriented in the evening. More rowdy as midnight approaches. Typically winds down at 2 or 3 am every day.

i am not a fan of the "major" festivals. big crowds are not fun.
some of the smaller ag/ranching towns have interesting festivals, for example el rosario and san ignacio. showing/racing horse, parades, ranchers
leaving the boonies to gather in town, etc.
many smaller towns have festivals,.... not aware of anyone making a list, you just got to ask around
Woke!

will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.”

Mine was carnival in Barranquilla , Colombia.
It's the 2nd. largest after Rio but MUCH less commercialized.
2nd. runner up is Cartagena's Independence day celebration that coincides with the Miss Colombia pageant .
Both were outstanding ( several times )

Carnival in Barranquilla , Colombia. I liked that one once. My little girl friend for a week was as cute as a Colombian girl to. I did not find a
festival at night like Ensenada though.
(Sad to report that a 12 year old girl cut open my back pack and stole a camera.)
Note to self
Independence day celebration that coincides with the Miss Colombia pageant
This could be a good one.
For the record.
I got 3 count them 1, 2, 3, kisses from Miss Venezuela back in, was it 2006. The miss Universe pagent was in New Orleans that year. She also gave
me her old Miss Venezuela ribbon, as she now had the Miss Universe ribbon to wear.
I visited carnaval in La Paz at the end of my first trip to Baja. Stumble bunny. I did not know about it, I just cycled into town on the
correct day.and I got a room, I cycled from Oregon, and like a good horese in a Louis L'Amour novel, The fork did not crack until in central
la Paz. I tried to sell that bike for 1 peso, but the guy wanted to force 100 pesos on me, So I went up to 10 pesos mx.

What about the festival on the reservation at Neah Bay? The streets are paved with candy bars up there. They do not through sticks of gum, no. They
through out 4 packs of Reeses peanut butter cups and king size Milky way bars, They look at yoou funny if you take just 1 cookie, they want you to
fill a plate with cookies.
In the museum, they make reference to the old ways, things that are no longer common konwledge. When I asked to meet one of the old timers they
introduced me to an old women born in Ozette. She told me stories for 3 days.
