San Jose del Cabo Sportfishing Recommendation
Hello nomads. I will be in San Jose del Cabo on April 25th -27th and would like to charter a boat for sport fishing. There will be 4-6 in my group.
1) Can you recommend a good outfitter for day trips?
2) What is the expected catch in late April? Any chance of mahi?
Thanks in advance!

Go see Tomas at the cleaning tables in Playita, (now adjacent to the desmadre called "Puerto Los Cabos"), he can book a panga for the next day.
Way more reasonable than the cruisers, same fishing grounds.

Group of 4-6, too many to be comfortable in a panga.

Two to three anglers in a panga max, so take two pangas. IMO still less $$$, and more chance to pull on something between two boats, and better odds
than maneuvering on the rail when drifting bait or taking turns on the hit trolled rod on a cruiser. And a lot more $$$ just to have a head.
Lots of dorado here now. Most are not big enough to keep if you value the species and want to take home a keeper next time. Releasing three out of
four right now. This is something you need to insist on because the skippers will kill even the 4 lbers. thinking you will be pleased.

A panga is uncomfortable, has no shade - it’s an overgrown dinghy.
A “real” boat has comfy couches, shade, refrigerator with cold drinks, a toilet, a kitchen for fixing up lunch you caught yourself that
morning,...
You’re on vacation, splurge and go for the toilet!
Woke!
Hands off!

will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.”
