Video on the Mulege-San Isidro/La Purisima Road (?)
We heard it was impassable since the past year or two... but these guys in a Tacoma opened the way. However, I have not been on it, so I would like
KurtG or TW or someone who has, to confirm by the scenery and switchbacks what abandoned road they were on... Nice video: https://vimeo.com/146502907

That must be that route....Willy Airsteam and Mulege Al have done it so they could comment.

Guajademi route
If that video is of the Mulege to San Isidro "Guajademi" route, it is the one we did several years ago - maybe March 2016. The terrain looks like a
match but we did not encounter the growth covering the trail, just rocks & more rocks. We also met a rancher along the way -

Looks like they put a few extra miles on top of the mountain, but otherwise, it is the same route. In Feb 2014 it was not as overgrown, but the rocks
and steep drop offs and "where is the road" are the same. Local word is it is not passable now, but it always fun trying! Some fotos here

Yeah, Willy and I did that trip south to north, but that was 2 or 3 hurricanes ago! Since then, the passing storms have done that route no favors at
all in the high paso regions. The low part of the route is rock for miles, just another bumpy spinal fluid headache ride.
I did get out there to explore it from north to south this season. I did make it to the top of the Chuparrosa pass, was the roughest toughest climb
of the year for me. And there are tracks south into the valley, but I did not have time to go further south that day.
My local mexican rider pals did attempt to cross the southern pass and were turned back by the complete destruction/deterioration of the roadbed north
of the Guajademi Y junction, they say it is not passable. So does the ranchero I know who runs cows in the interior valley north of there.
So naturally, I can't wait to get back down there and ride all the way through next season, hurricanes permitting!
