Gonzaga Bay Hotel Needed
I am trying to get reservations to stay at Gonzaga Bay for tomorrow (Sunday the 20th). There's no phone number on the Alfonsina's website or on their
FB page. I tried emailing but no answer. Does anyone have a good phone number for them? Also where would you recommend staying in San Felipe and in
Bahia de Los Angeles? Thanks so much.

There is no phone (or power lines) near there.
That ends at San Felipe, 100 miles north.
Lots of places in San Felipe and L.A. Bay. Everyone has their favorites. What do you want for the room if anything special or want to be near the
beach?
Nothing beats Alfonsina's for a beach location.

Alfonsina is trying to turn into some all inclusive resort. Have to buy a package of food with your stay.
Not very impressed with whoever is running it these days.

Costa del Sol is the best place in BoLA. Good rooms and great food. Super friendly.

Thank you. I finally heard back from Alfonsina's. They said they don't have openings. They will only accept reservations 15 days prior to arrival
now. They do have a mandatory package now too where you pay $80 for a room and $27 for meals (or more if you want kayaking or SUP included.) Thank
you for the tips on where to stay in Bahia de Los Angeles. I think I will just stay there two days instead. Will check out Costa del Sol too. Thanks
again !

That actually was not a 'bad' price for Alfonsina's provided you will be there long enough for the meals. If you get there early enough without a
reservation, check it out, and if there isn't an available room, stay at one of the other places in the area or drive on to San Felipe, 2 hours north.

Ditto Skip this place. Why? Don't get me started.
Every beautiful beach in the world needs a few condo towers - NOT.

Ain't it amazing how many of these iconic Baja treasures go down the toilet when the ubiquitous ''guide books'' and reviews come out? Reminds me of
the Sta. Rosalia bakery.... touted in the '80's and '90's of being so special... I'd been to dozens of bakeries and dulcerias locally that run rings
around it. Not a fun experience any more with employees dull, sullen, food so-so. Much like many a restaurant and other services too. Thanx for
nuthin', book-writers. (Author's names and places may emerge with future posts)

It's not just Baja .
Lonely Planet ( amongst others ) has caused the ruin of many a fine place.
Rarely does sudden popularity result in things staying the same or (haha) getting any better.
Since I've given up all hope, I feel much better

Rancho Grande, across the highway, is a market, tire repair, and restaurant next door. They do have 'cabins' for rent, on the bay, south of
Alfonsina's. There is a small, cozy motel just 5 miles north of the bay at Punta Bufeo. Cabins also at El Sacrificio, south of Rancho Grande, too.

I'm with David, Alphe's is Alphe's, has been changing for a long time. Not bad for the money with a view like that. Sacrificio is a good place to
stay, view included. Decent cabins, meals are good, people are nice.
