Mex 1, not so bad!!

Just got home from a down and back to San Ignacio and many waypoints.
The highway is not great in places, but certainly no worse than Jerry Brown's State Hiway 99 or I-5 through California.
Found several crews working on patches, unfortunately the places they patch are surrounded by other pieces of missing top layer, but all in all very passable compared to previous reports.
Many stretches are having a complete overlay, the only way to cure those ragged areas.
And, sad to say, gas is just as pricey as California, with all its extra taxes and add-ons.
You would think that charging those prices would yield some better attention to the roads (In both Baja and CalUSA)

I agree! Did highway 1 just a few weeks ago and I would venture to say it has not been as good as it is now, in years.

I thought the Mex 1 was greatly improved on our last trip. Now it is very close to the condition of many streets in Chula Vista I travel to work on.

Greatly improved, but am sure the patches will not last long....be diligent.
