Thank you Larry. Is that 3.50 as in ~35 cents or 3.50 as in U.S?
Do you know the 'best' (or at least better) place to purchase the tele in LaPaz?
Unrelated, but curious, what part of La Paz do you live in?

Thank you Lencho. I had assumed pesos, but I have assumed things prior that came back to haunt me. Tim

Hi!
You can use any TDMA (Telcel) or CDMA (Movistar) phone to communicate in your Baja Trip.
GSM Phones give you service from Mexicali to San Felipe.
TDMA and CDMA and Analog phones have great signal beyond Puertecitos.
In my camp in STLG you can get signal in Analog 800 Mhz
Also in Punta Bufeo is another point I have tested.
Regards,
Francisco (Mexicali, MX)

Verizon on the Baja
I had Verizon change my calling plan to cover Mexico and downloaded the new PRL from the #228 number before I crossed the border but never got my cell
phone to work on the Baja. The only place it showed that I wasn't roaming was in Ensenada and even there it wouldn't work. I tried it in every town I
stopped in, including Guerrero Negro, Mulege, Loreto, La Paz, and Cabo and couldn't get it to work. When I dialed a number it would just go dead.
When I got back to the US I asked Verizon what was wrong and they told me that the only place on the Baja that their phones would work (without
roaming charges) was Ensenada and that they had no idea why my phone wouldn't work there. They said that their coverage of the mainland was much
better.
