I tried a few until I found the place up the hill a little.
Past the Chinese restarant and before a theater that was closed.
Top floor with view is best.
No elevator so you need to haul your gear up. Street parking.
I eventually went to a hostel, Convento" I think. It was fun. And cheap.

Thank you, I booked there the first time coming to La Paz but then “had an problem’ with the person I was going with and went alone and just drove
and found my place to be as an aloner. I made that word up.
Posada is romantic and looks beautiful but I just found where I should be at that time. One day I’ll stay there.

I stay at La Perla. I just love the location, the open dining for my coffee and fruit in the morning and the old school feel of the rooms. Nothing
fancy but clean and suited to my loner people watching days and nights.
I’m going to explore other places this trip and will try to find your “little place up the hill”. Not sure what hill but will try, lol, to
figure it out.

Never stayed. But it's fun to walk past with the restaurant sorta open air...
Maybe about 5 hills(streets). Past the pier and toward the smokestack.
You can the the Red Dragon on the Chinese place from the Malecon when you look up.
It's still on the "bottom" of the hill.
I remember the landmarks but not names...

I've always wanted to stay at La Perla but never have. Lots of history with the early Baja 1000 races. Some how I always ended up staying somewhere
else. I have eaten there and thought it was good.

Traveling with a big dog limits where I am able, or even allowed to stay. Traveling with dragons, it must be even tougher! 
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

For me it’s all location and I ended up there the first time after the hotel I was at had plumbing issues and I had to move.
The rooms are really big, old school Palm Springish feeling.
Not fancy, everything could be upgraded but then I would be in. A McDonalds hotel anywhere.
I like it and I really love it’s location.
I’ll post some pics of my room when I get there.

Ya know, everyone loves a dragon though 😂😂😂
Traveling with dogs can throw a kink in stuff. I’m leaving my dog at home with a sitter but tons of hotels let you bring them. La Perla doesn’t
though.

If you get the chance go down to El Triunfo on a Saturday or Sunday.
Hook up with Alejandro and Malvina - the white adobe hacienda across from the museum (they’re there most weekends). Visit the museum and do the self
guided toor of the mining operation.
Two dirt roads diverged in Baja and I, I took the one less graveled by......

Only open weekends?
