My husband is looking at fishing Cedros Island. Anyone ever been? I assume it is not warm like the SOC...

Warm no. Sea tricky. Lobster abundant. Guides, none that I know altho we have flown in and gone out with a local a couple of times. Be prepared to
bounce around. I would contact Shari or Blanca.

I fished it once with Cedros Outdoor Adventures.

Great operation! Yes, it can be warm depending on the time of year. It is not always cold... The water was glass when I was there! Very calm and warm.
I went a couple years ago at the start of October.

I highly recommend Cedros Outdoor Adventures....real class act and top notch service.
A cheaper way to do it is to go over there in a panga from Pta.Eugenia and leave your truck at Tomas Arce's fish camp....he runs the water taxi and
also sport fishes as well.
Some of our guests who come and stay with us in Asuncion also go out there and fish off Cedros with Tomas....great fisherman. I can give you his
contact info or call him for you. He has a little camp there with rooms too...rustic with shared bathroom but fine.

I've heard the owners of Cedros Sportfishing on the local radio, sounds like a great operation. Also, lots of kelp beds so braided line and bring
lots of swimbaits, as they get chewed up by the big bass.
I believe they have their own flights from TJ, just across the CBX.

Cedros Sportfishing is awesome. Rosie and Jeff take care of everything. Rosie will escort you thru the CBX to Mexican customs where someone else takes
over until it`s time to board a chartered airplane. Get to the island, hit a store for beer, go to the lodge and fish that afternoon if you want. Fish
for huge yellowtail for 3 or 4 days, fly back to TJ, you`re curbside at the CBX at 10:30, frozen fish vacuumed packed. A little pricey but a great
adventure and fishing trip!!

What Shari said since you are south.
Edit: Nothing is as warm as SOC unless you keep heading south!

Cedros is awesome, the local radio station here in San Diego ( 1090 am Saturday and Sunday 7 - 9 ) has there them give a weekly fish report and info
to get there, as stated. If your already down south that whole area from Shari's to Santa Rosiaattlliittaa, sorry, never going to spell that. You can
have ggod days and bad days ( wheather ) but some pretty good GD fishing if u hit it right

The kelp comment hit home with me
We camped past Punta Falsa in view of Cedros and I cranked out my trusty shore fishing gear
But the deep kelp just defeated me

I think Cedros Sportfishing posts up reports and pictures daily on their website.

Looks like I am slacking on the job!
I didn't open the thread til now because I have no fishing experience on Cedros. I have been there a couple times when I flew GNegro to TJ and that's
it.
If you go with your husband, BigMama, I recommend a trip to the church. It is remote and quite pretty.
Les went to Punta Eugenia and from there did Cedros, so he has no direct experience either.

Yep, Cedros Outdoor Adventures was top notch. Pick me up in San Diego, stopped and got licenses and visa's for the people who didn't have them,
stopped for snacks. Drove us to Ensenada then a private plane to Cedros and I was spearfishing later that same day. Food and service was Five Stars,
I'd go again if I could every find other spearfishermen with money. Food was so, so, good. My trip, with everything, was about $1800.
