Road to Bahia tortuga trailering boat
Hi I’m traveling to Bahia tortuga from Mulege in a few weeks, can anyone share any recent road information? How long it might take from main hwy 1
towing a boat, pot holes or dirt section status. Thanks!

We drove up there in June
The road is excellent, much of it is new paving
From Tortugas we went on up to Punta Falsa and beyond to camp
Everything past Tortugas is dirt but smooth and fast
Lots of fishing support vehicles travel that road so it is all good.
Nice bay in Tortugas for launching
However, hurricanes since June may have changed things but the conditions then were perfect

No more dirt to Tortugas... the final 15 kms were paved after I logged it last year (darn)! There were no significant potholes last year in the paved
part.

It is worth remembering that a significant wind event will drift sand across the road anywhere near the salt flats! Instant topes!
In addition to that, I encountered more than the usual amount of bovine traffic on the shoulders of the road.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

A new map only needs one error or ommission from a previously copyrighted map to be considered a non-infringement.

lencho: The content on my maps (roads, names, symbols) is my work, except for terrain and federal highway, which is from a public, free map making
source. I have detailed the steps in past posts. The copyright symbol I added is just a hope that some magazine or other business doesn't take my work
and call it theirs... which has been done in the past.
My maps are FREE for any Baja traveler to enjoy or use. I drew in all the roads you see above except for Hwy. 1. I use satellite images and my GPS
track to draw in the roads in nearly every place... a couple are freehand added in but close to the actual location. They were a lot of work to make.
I did not use someone else's map or Google maps because they are full of errors and did not show just what I wanted to show.

I responded earlier to the one who posed the question on this post.
As an addendum, I really appreciate and utilize these maps!!
In fact, on our trek up to Bahia Tortugas I printed these out and even emailed with David to make certain about the paving, etc.
All of his notations and comments were borne out precisely.
Last week we were in Cabo San Lucas and I printed out his maps for CSL to La Paz and used them along with the good old AAA map to make our one day
outing around the cape.
