I take a 40.
Please stop by Home Depot and Walmart and fill it with everything I will ever need and drop it at my camp.
Thanks

This is not a bad idea.
If the containers are in Ensenada...maybe I can buy one and fill it myself...
But I won't need the container after... and them things are an eyesore...and would need to hide it or expose of it.

What do they cost? 20 ft and 40 ft. If the prices vary, the average price would be OK. Or a price range. Non-refrigerated and refrigerated

Prices range from 1k to 5k depending on size/condition.
The 40 ft intermodals are more difficult to transport and move around by yourself.
The 20 ft containers can be transported by flat bed tow truck, and such truck can pretty much drop container in any spot.
Get a high cube, the added height is nice.
If using in desert, i suggest you build a roof over them, and add ventilation. The interior gets pretty hot in direct sunlight.
Places like sw mobile in chula vista will customize containers for you, add door or window or roof vent, cost aint much.
Woke!

You can get a storage building custom built for you in baja for cheaper cost than buying/transporting an intermodal.

I went through the math on this last time it came up.
Block is still cheaper and easier.
Block is easier and cheaper than all other materials.
Except maybe rock gathering.
But I think that may be expensive now too.
All the rocks in my area have their own truck and they B-line it straight to a rich socal back yard.
But in the olden days of the early 80's... they were cheap. Pay a guy to go get them.
So back to block.
But I love the idea of putting wheels on it and towing it with my truck.
Happiest day in an F-350s life...

No problem in San Quintin, Fishboy. The sun never shines, really.
Maybe just coat it with Rustoleum.

In much of Alaska, everything arrives on a barge, or airplane! For a whole lot of shipping containers, a remote village is their
final port of call.
I worked on a construction project in Hooper Bay just before I retired, and the 'hotel room' I stayed in was a converted refrigerated container. It
was quiet, and comfortable in late summer, but I wasn't there in mid winter.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

I'm thinking 20 footer. It can be anything and everything.
We call them "Comfort Pallets" and put them in the back of a C-17 for VIPs.
Even a mobile sugical unit.
Everybody else sat on the red "jump"seats in the cargo compartment. Or "troop seats".
It sits on a flatbed and can be easily moved with my truck. Pack it full of stuff and go where the fish are biting.
And the flatbed can be used for hauling UTVs, Bobcat trackter or water toys.
Or pavers, or block.
Interesting posibilties.

Google what people are doing with shipping containers for living quarters. You might not know it was a shipping container.
There are much worse eye sores than shipping containers, in most of the Mexican communities I have been to.

And who the heck doesn't love butter ???
Since I've given up all hope, I feel much better
