Chevy k2 blazer tires
Hi everyone ! Putting New tires on our 86 k2 blazer. want to get what would be good for baja dirt roads . Will be driving to agua Verde and ranches in
the Luigi / Loreto area . Getting close to moving south.

While I am no fan of BFG, their new KO series All Terrain TA and Mud Terrain tires are far far better than the earlier model.
Others to check out can include Toyo Open Country, Cooper Discoverer, Goodyear Wrangler.
An economical option could be the Hankook DynaPro ATM.

A local dealer has started carrying Starfire tires. They are made by Cooper, and the "SF-510 looks like an affordable alternative to some of the
other brands. $142 for a 285/75/16 LT, or $122 for the 265/75/16.
I have not found an acceptable web site for them, but they are offered by Walmart among others.
Did the 86 blazer still run 15 inch tires! The last one I had was a 79.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

Ligui, I hope you did not take my comments about the Starfire tire as a recommendation, I know nothing about them, or anyone who has used them. I was
just surprised to discover (yesterday) that there was an all terrain tire I have never heard of before!
By the way, I believe your Blazer is a K-5. If you have 15 inch rims, I would go with something like a 31/10.50/15 for a combination highway and
moderate off road conditions. Air down for sand and it should be fine.

I have the street Hankook H724 (235/75-15) on my truck, great wearing tire, have had no problems driving many miles (and kilometers) offroad, both
Baja and Wyoming, trouble free. They're 50K mile tires, and it looks like I'll get that out of them as well.
Check out Evans Tire for their "buy 2, get 2" deals, that seems to work out best value the last two times I "retired" versus Discount.

I have a set of Hankook all season tires on my Kia in Anchorage, and I can confirm the long life, they will outlast that old Kia!
The trade off for durability in my opinion, is performance on wet, or icy pavement. That shouldn't be a problem for desert driving, but I spend
enough time in winter weather that I prefer a softer, well siped tire like the Wrangler.
What ever you wind up with, the larger you go over stock size, the lower the psi you will need. It all depends on the load you are carrying.

I have been running Hankook Dynapro ATMs for a few years and overall they have performed the best in sand and are quiet on the highway. They were
actually amazing in mud and snow, too... But, I rarely drive in snow. The ATM must mean All Terrain & Mud special? I have had a couple flats from
sharp rocks, but all in all have been very pleased. I got my last set at Discount Tire in San Marcos. $140 with the road hazard package. They have
replaced all my tires that were patched or plugged from flats with new ones... Just a $20 charge for the new warranty on them.
Size: 265/75-16 which is 1" taller than stock, but do not rub on a Tacoma.

Thanks for all of your info. I checked today and the size on the K5 blazer tires are 31x10.50 R15 LT K2 are my old skis thanks for helping me
there . I'm going to do some searching. Would like to get them
ordered and put on .
