It was on the wall at the old gas station/truck stop at Catavina before Los Pinos just built the new one. I'm sure it's gone, probably painted over.

That is a rare one, Ted!
At a home in Baja were these beauties...
I remember the metal AAA signs in Baja on our 1966 trip down the peninsula. One, that was painted over with new wording was at Rancho Sonora (the
original one, on the old main road) in 1974. You saw it driving to El Mármol from the new highway.

Driving in Baja before 1973 was quite the adventure! It was like the Wild West, but with four wheel drive!

Nice! Even back then, they had bullet holes.

Yes, it is odd when bullets were so valuable that signs were shot up. I remember them that way in 1966, as well.

I bought a commemorative sign for the 2017 Mexican 1000 -- modeled after old AAA signs, complete with rust and bullet holes.

From the 1973 AAA Baja Norte Guidebook
Likely where the older route coming south from San Juan de Dios met the main peninsular road... between El Arenoso and El Progreso?
