Any job connections for La Paz computer geek?

Enrique has just finished college and needs a job! He majored in computer science and is definitely a nerd! He loves everything computer.

If you have any connection in a large preferably multi national company, I can attest that they will be super lucky to have him as their employee. He is serious, smart, quiet, punctual and a team player.

Here is a photo of when he was my student in high school! Seems like just yesterday ...

Here he is learning how to make lasagna in our bnb kitchen when he was still in high school.

Here he is when we got him brand new glasses.

Unfortunately, his professor convinced him to do a thesis (which he will be defending at the end of the month) instead of doing an internship which would have led straight to a job. If you have any connections amigos, please let me know.

Suggest applying for an internship @ Sun Turbine, Catepillar Corp. Otay Mesa

Worked their as a contractor for U.S. Corp, spoke with a couple interns back then I now help mentor as they go forward.

Time to sell himself; does he have a web site?

That's a good idea.

Also, perhaps a professional social media profile at

http://www.linkedin.com

Our daughter used LinkedIn with good success. He could put his profile/ resume on that site. Might lead to something.

+1 for a LinkedIn profile. I have my current job (Application Administrator at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution thanks to a recruiter scouring LinkedIn for keywords and sending me an unsolicited, unexpected email.

Nothing yet and I must admit, I have not jumped on this and I MUST.

He just defended his thesis and turned in all the paperwork to receive his diploma. Here is the thesis photo:

He also got THE HIGHEST overall GPA in his whole class!

Holy Moly!!! Madre de Dios!!! How proud I am and what a shame that the virus will prevent the proper graduation celebration.

That being said, time for me to get his graduation gifts - I believe the "celebration" event is in January.

His teachers/professors probably have some job leads (they should) and he should definitely ask them to write recommendations for prospective employers.

Perhaps you could speak with them on his behalf.
