Are bugs a problem along the Rio Mulege?

Do the developments along the Rio like the Huerta, Oasis, Villa Maria Isabel have problems with mosquitos and/or jejenes? If so, when does the "season" start and end?

I have always been there in the winter or June at the latest.

I dont care about flies.....well, maybe if there is a big deer fly or horse fly season!:wow:

Buggers

I can tell you that if you get signifigant rain like last Oct. the answer is yes, but the hatch ends and for a couple weeks the skeeters (sorry Skeet) will bug you. Iam not a full time resident so how often and what other critters I don't know. My kids get bit much more than me (must be the garlic) so I recommend Deet or equiv. if you are there during a hatch.
After all, if u were a bug in Baja, wouldn't you want to live in Mulege. Of the seven visits in the past year only once was buggy but like I said, they don't bug me much.

Are there snakes in Baja?

If you have a palapa roof when the weather worms up the scorpions dropping on you will make you forget all about the other bugs.

the mosquitoes and noseeums. are not bad this time of year.but when it worms up they can be pesky within about 2 blocks of the river. last year we had very few but the year before it was real bad.
