Ricky moving on up!
Found the coverage on TV yesterday and set to record the remaining shows. Only 30 minutes each but a look at the terrain, which is amazing! I would go to Saudi just to see those weird granite(?) hills coming out of the sand dune sea.

Ricky Brabec quote

“Today we had Toby go down and hit the dirt. He’s a little bit injured, I think it’s his left shoulder and left arm. He hit pretty hard on the left and didn’t really know where he was. He asked me probably seven times where he was and who I was. I came across him and just hung out with him until the helicopter got there. What we do is dangerous, so it’s unfortunate that he is out. We hope he’s okay. It’s something we have to think about every time we put the gear on each morning. It could be any of us. This day last year we lost a really good friend in Paulo and today Toby crashed and went out of the rally, but he’s going to be ok. For sure, going on for the rest of the day was really difficult. The guys sent me on right behind Joan and Daniel Sanders, so I was stuck in the dust and I was really angry because I wasn’t in the dust before I came across Toby. There was a three-minute gap and we were just doing our own thing. I got stuck in the dust for a while and it kind of made me angry, so I just pushed and got around it. Then I kind of opened the stage with Joan the rest of the way. Me and Joan took turns opening and it was really fun. But things are shaking up, we’ve all got smoked tyres. There are three days left and stage 11 is going to be the longest one. Hopefully, we’ve finished okay today”.

okay lets wrap this thing up and move on to saturday nights supercross opener!:bounce:

Hey Paul, where are you getting your info? The official Dakar website shows Ricky in 3rd but I’m not familiar with this race so I’m not entirely sure I’m reading it right.

Wow ! great comment

Plenty of conflicting info today I think we should wait for the info to settle down until later today
stage11 results
http://www.automobilsport.com/race-categories--24,218252,Dak... Brabec 6th

Overall after Stage 11 https://dirtbikemagazine.com/dakar-stage-11-results/ Brabec 10th for stage and 1st overall

Double checked to make sure it was S 11 and not other stage.

https://www.dakar.com/en/rankings/stage-11/bike?type=cg says Brabec is 6th overall

https://au.sports.yahoo.com/dakar-2021-stage-11-sunderland-1... says Brabec is 3rd Howes 5th overall

BTW, they took CORNEJO off in a stretcher and now he is running??

Thank you Paul for the updates! I have been following the race via your updates! Went looking for articles of Ricky’s pretty big comeback and that’s where I stumbled upon the official website that had him 3rd. Once again, thank you for the continued updates. In your opinion is Ricky’s chance of winning pretty slim now or is he sitting in a great spot?
