The photo was taken in 2012. The sign is not there anymore. my understanding is Mayoral means Forman or Farm Supervisor.

Was that the market on the SE corner of the plaza? It is a family name in that area, the little market by the checkpoint North of town next to Quichule's is also Mayoral. Or at least it was when I was last able to travel there more than a year ago.

Are you giving two answers here? If yes, the first one is incorrect.

So is there a prize?

And yes, I am still grateful to you and Elizabeth for the ice cold orange juice when I wasn't feeling well on that memorable Mission Santa Maria trip. I would like to return there and spend a couple of days.

Kurt, think nothing of it... It was just a fun memory of how much you felt better after drinking it! What an epic trip... I still stay in touch with HB Murray (Paul) even though he hasn't posted on Nomad much after the trip reports and video showings. No word from Art edm1, lately, either. BajaTripper (Steve) has been quiet, too. We lost Neal Johns at the end of 2019... Chris (in the Dakota) lives in TJ and doesn't do Nomad anymore. Is that everyone? Oh, Baja Bucko (Teddi) is on Facebook and still working on her Baja family research and DNA project.

You need to ask Phil about a prize... I was hoping he would pop in and answer your guesses...

He told me the photo was taken by the "immigration checkpoint on your right as you were going southbound years ago"... maybe he means the military checkpoint?
