Navigating Mexicali West Customs

I need to bring down a few items of value. Anyone have experience with declaring items at Mexicali West that are worth more than $3,000? A while ago, I'd heard you are supposed to use an importation agent. Is that still the case, what happens if you turn up in the declaration line?

Go to mexicali east. They are very professional compared to west. Last time i came down they told me anything over 2500. You have to import.
If you stay in the far right lane at the east border they will direct you where to park. Very easy. If you bring more that 2500. You will pay about double the fee. For me it was 32% so it may be worth making two trips or have someone else bring some.
Good luck
Mick

Getting there is ALL the fun!
Ok being here is fun to

What sort of stuff do you want to bring? How we do it depends on what it is.

We built a house taking a pickup truck load through the west crossing every two wks for years. We only were stopped and charged a few times!
