Bit of an issue with SWMBO, need advice

OK, I need some help here. After 3 or 4 hours of hard labor at Cory's (our youngest son) house, we come home, pour a nice glass of Baja rosé
wine, jump into the hot tub for a soak, put Peter Frampton on the portable Bose and settle in. Ahhhh, nice. A few minutes later, SWMBO asks "Is $30 a cheap or expensive ho?" Hmmm, danger, danger Mr Robinson.
So, while wondering why she wants to know and why the heck she thinks I would know, I casually say, "Pesos or dollars, and why do you ask?" . She answered, " I bought one for Cory". Holy God's trousers, I stand up and very sternly ask her what in the world is going on here. "I bought Cory a Hula Hoe on line and thought in was a bit expensive, Why are you so excited?" Long silence. As if this morning, still a bit chilly......

After living in Mexico full time since 2008, we bought a place in Idaho in 2016 and split our time between the two.

My wife is now a Mexi-'ho.

In the ‘80s the “$30(US) Hoe” was found near the Gray Market in the D.F. and generally was to be avoided at all costs!

That story was relayed to me by several of the Mexican crew members working on the same project I was working on. They were Mexico City locals.
