A couple of years ago (mas o menos) I helped people get camping permits on Carmen Island and I have no idea if they also issue permits for Isla
Catalana.
It was a simple process and the small office was located just to the left of the Loreto boat ramp where the office that issues fishing permits is.
They had designated camping areas that were numbered and I was impressed how efficient they were. I remember I needed to give everyone's age and
other pertinent information.
I will be in Loreto for another 10 days and if you need my assistance send me a U2U.
I just remembered, they were issued different colored wrist bands for the various locations and dates and there was a cos but it wasn't to bad.

There are two offices when you step downstairs off the sidewalk at the Loreto "marina" and beach access at the malecon.
Straight ahead is where I got my last fishing license.
The office on the left deals with Park stuff.
I know they used to have a sign-up sheet so there wouldn't be two groups in a camp spot at the same time.
I don't know about Santa Catalina Island.
Have fun!

I believe that I once saw a post on this forum that said dogs are not allowed on the island. Is that correct, and is it for both islands?
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

No dogs, no animals are allowed on any island in the marine park at any time.
Permits for beach camping are issued at the headquarters at the Loreto marina. I had heard at one time that camping was not allowed on Monserrat nor
Catalon/Catalina, but I am not sure about that.

Rocky on the north and south. Some really nice beaches in other parts of the island.
I haven't been there for a couple of years. Last trip was for scuba diving.
We are checking for a permit for a family that is headed out there in early August. They are writing a book about snakes and are also putting together
a photo album of them.
We are helping them out together their trip.
Thanks for your help
Howard I'll be in touch. Thanks

Hello eveyone. Happy 4th weekend !
Wanted to share some information that Howard got for me about camping on the island.
It's a no go on camping on the island. Only day trips . Guess they will have to get up very early and make it a day only trip .
Wanted to thank Howard for going to the office in loreto and finding out this information for us.
