PacNor Bahia Asuncion teaching kids to surf!
The new lending library at the Surf Clubhouse has been fantastic for attracting more kids to learn to surf as we lend them suits & boards. The
members take time to teach the kids and more youth are coming out every week! Here are some highlights of our surf school days this month.
The looks on the kids faces the first time they take a wave is priceless!
Love that the kids make it out to the break in this little car!Where there's a will there's a way!
Here is my little surfer family!
Here is the PacNor mission statement in case you missed it.
PACNOR SURF ALLIANCE
We are a group of ocean loving surfers of all ages who have come together to unite the Central Pacific coastal towns of Baja California Sur. The idea
was born with a group of surfers in Bahia Tortugas who visited the villages of Bahia Asuncion, Punta Abreojos & La Bocana to invite us to
participate in the new PacNor Surf alliance in hopes of sending representatives from the zone to bigger tournaments.
By organizing a surf tournament circuit in the region, we bring back the excitement of a challenge, with a chance of moving up in a point system to
form a team of representatives from the zone. One of our many goals is to motivate young surfers to work hard and set goals that we can help them
achieve.
The club members offer surf lessons to beginners & lend them equipment to get more kids involved in the sport and give them a chance to learn a
new skill!
The PacNor Surf Club in Bahia Asuncion aims to bring back surfing as a community sport, not only to compete but to teach the youth to swim, surf,
water safety as well as educate people how important it is to take care of our villages, coastline, oceans and one another.
We are working on outfitting a club house at the beach where we will have a lending library of wetsuits, surf & boogie boards, leashes, fins, wax
etc. so even kids with no gear can participate and learn.
It will be a place where we can meet and plan events and fundraisers to help the club raise money to send the members to tournaments. Perhaps a small
store with souvenirs and surf gear too in the future.
With help from our sponsors and donations from visitors & friends, the clubhouse and lending library will grow and help more kids. We have lots of
great ideas and the kids are stoked about the future!
Help us help them with a donation!
