Headed to La Paz for a month - what should we not miss
We are renting in La Paz for a month.
What are your favorite:
Places that serve molcajete?
What place can you buy fresh fish?
Best bar outside?
Bakery?
Beach?
Have any of you used a hair salon there?

The main reason to go to La Paz is to get out on the ocean and see the islands.
One of the most spectacular cruising grounds in the world.

are you going to eat the stone? lots of dirt and rock in la paz, if that is what you prefer to eat. but it is awful hard on the teeth

Best molcajete by far for me, as well as aguachile, campechana......."El Guero Guisave", (special shrimp juice used on the above).
On highway heading towards T. Santos, S. Jose, right side, palapa roof, look for the trucks on the highway, park around back.
"El Toro Guero" is good for mariscos and downtown, not far off malecon on corner calle Sinaloa.
Almejas Ahumado next to Natural History Museum is a gem, that's all they serve.
Many others in town, those two come to mind first.

El Sarape which is right next to Tailhunter has a neat second floor with a balcony that is perfect for people watching, has the BEST chilaquiles with
chicken - one order is enough for 4 people, some tasty margaritas to boot!
Just walking the malecon (boardwalk) is fun.
There is an inside farmers market or MERCADO that is really interesting and once or twice a week, there is an outside farmers market that used to be
close to CAFE DOCE CUARENTA. Which BTW, has some amazing maps that show everything in La Paz! Free info, worth a cup of coffee for sure!

"Must do" tours would be snorkel with whale sharks and an Espiritu Santos tour with snorkeling with sea lions at Los Islotes.
c-cktails and clams on the beach at Tecolote which is also a great place to arrange your island tour
Freshest fish is usually Mercado Bravo a few blocks up from the malecon on Nicholas Bravo/Revolucion
Knowing what time of the year you are going and things you enjoy would help us add to your list

We just got back and I must say, lots of foreigners - we heard English and German in quite a few places.
Malecon is as fun as ever and we ate at EL ZARAPE three times. The shrimp chile rellenos were divine. I wish I knew how they make the sauce on top.
If you go here, go to the stairs that are past the bar and eat upstairs. Absolutely perfect as no one was there. We had the place to ourselves. Our
waiter was a young kid named Jonathan.
Once we ate on the porch, once inside and once downstairs. The chilaquiles for two are enough for 3 or 4. The margaritas are really as good as the
ones here at our Beach Restaurant.
