The beaches of the Bay of Conception, Jan 13 2022
We took a quick trip to La Paz, probably our last before we move to Turkey. I took some shots of the beaches and thought i would share.
Quite a few campers on some of the shores!
I have a question: Are these rocks lava rocks? Why is there no magma lava?

Good questions. I wondered the same thing when I hiked up the mountain across the road & south of Playa El Requesón. Up close they don't look
volcanic to me.
The guy we were camped next to said that a long time ago someone was commissioned by some Mexican government entity (obviously I don't recall any
specifics) to paint the rocks on the mountain that look like coral and a whale. When I was climbing straight down on the rock formation that looks
like coral I saw remnants of paint on some of the rocks. I did a google search when I got back from that trip and couldn't find anything to
substantiate that. Does anyone know anything about wether or not that is true?

There is posts on the painted slope (visible from El Requesón Beach) on the Internet, posted here on Nomad. Not sure how to search exactly?
Blanca, when the molten rock is underground, it is called Magma. Once it is on the surface, it is called Lava. How it hardens can vary and in Hawaii,
there are local names for the different types of cooled/ solid lava.
