Woody`s World record spotfin croaker!

From a surf fishing blog-----

https://surffishingsocalsd.com/how-does-this-recent-catch-co...

CONGRATS Woody!!!!
I remember seeing this photo and wondering "What is that beast". I never imagined a spot fin could be so huge!

That was a monster of a croaker, indeed.
I have occasionally mentioned that croaker... likely a world record!

The largest fish I ever caught surf fishing, beside a shark, was a spot fin croaker. Not as big as Woody's. It was at Laguna Manuela in the cove where the seals hang out. I was using a red plastic worm. I was more or less just messing around and bam I hooked him.

That whole area was a great place to fish and croakers and corbinas taste really good.

That's cool.

I sent him a PM asking about surf spots last year. It took him about 6 months, but he did answer me.

He is on Facebook more than Nomad... but not a lot. Like what TW said... he is busy fishing!

In 2017, I found that he had once stayed in the same motel as I did with this license plate sticker on the room window, lol:
