Looks like only one residence was effected, which is very fortunate as many of the homes and businesses are made of wood in the downtown area where
the fire originated.

1/2 of a block was destroyed
I'm hearing 7 families displaced
Thankfully no human injuries

I'm glad to hear the fire didn't burn the place down. It very well could have with all the old dried-out wooden buildings. A truly unique Baja town.
We go there about once a month during the winter for shopping and propane.

santa rosalia was always what I imagined mexico to look like, wouldn't want to live there but love to visit. I find it amazing those old buildings
have survived as long as they have!
there's only two things in life but I forget what they are........

I wonder what is used to keep the termites at bay.
We always drive into town, get some street tacos, and watch the goings-on. It's a busy place.
Two more months and we're back in BCS.

La Bocana, Punta Abreojos and Bahia Asuncion are collecting for the victims of the fire. They only had time to leave with the clothes on their backs
but gratefully, no one was hurt.
This showed up for anyone living in La Paz who wants to help.
Horarios:
Lunes - Viernes: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Sábado: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Hoy es por Santa Rosalía. ¡Ayudemos en todo lo que esté a nuestro alcance
!
¡¡Favor de compartir!!
It basically gives the address of the Abreojos fish shop in La Paz where dontation can be made from 9 to 3 pm weekdays and asks that everyone pass on
the word. "Today we help Santa Rosalia" with whatever we can.

I am sure you can go to any delegacion (police station) or DIF (family dvpmt Center) and drop off donations in Abreojos, Bahia Asuncion or La Bocana.
Think: setting up a kitchen from scratch! pots pans dishtowels dishwashing liquid laundry soap...
