Goat,

Did you read this article? Two senior police and just one officer respond to a bar disturbance at night! The police go 4 to a car in the day! Sounds more like a payoff disagreement to me.

Goat, to be more transparent:
It was in Ciudad Constitución (big city).
Cd. Constitución is in the Municipality of Comondú.
Like saying something happened in Alameda, when it happened in Oakland (which is in Alameda County).

Ya gotta love Mexican journalistic style! :lol:

Compound the entertainment by feeding some of this article to Google Translate. One sample:

“Golpearon al Comandante General, güey, Gabriel González; golpearon a Salvador Romualdo, Comandante Supervisor; y golpearon a un chalancito de Alexis, un morro de La Toba; al Comandante General le destrozaron la cara a cachazos y al Supervisor le tumbaron los dientes a cachazos, y al otro bato le dieron una verguiza, están internados en el ISSSTE”, expresa la voz, aparentemente un servidor público municipal.

"They beat the Commander General, dude, Gabriel González; they beat Salvador Romualdo, Supervisor Commander; and they hit a chalancito from Alexis, a nose from La Toba; They smashed the Commander General's face with cachazos and they knocked out the Supervisor's teeth with cachazos, and they gave the other bato an embarrassment, they are interned in the ISSSTE”, expresses the voice, apparently a municipal public servant."

:lol::spingrin:

To be fair, what you quoted was a verbatim transcription of a voice recording. It was not written by the journalist. The spoken word and the written word are two different things.

The sentences written by the journalist translate just fine.

I'm super impressed by google translate. What a wonderful free service.

I understand what they're using is AI applied to a huge base of human-translated material, and the result shows.

I've read google translate is using their most advanced AI software. The number of languages that can be translated is amazing. Also, you can click the speaker icon and hear the pronunciation. The software is removing language barriers. A huge accomplishment.

FWIW, everyone down that way calls, refera to Ciudad Constitución as "el Valle". Even the quoted news article referred to Ciudad Constitución as el Valle.

That took me a bit to figure out.
