SJD airport pickup? Departure or arrival level?
Question about picking people up at SJD airport. Is first level arrivals or second level departures better?
San Jose storage used to pick up on the top/2nd story departure level.
I’m driving down and picking up my family at SJD.
Should I tell them to meet me on the first floor arrival level or the second floor departure level?
It was kind of a zoo 6 months ago on the first floor arrival level.

You can pick them up on the second level but its all about timing since there's really no place to park, it's as you know just for dropping off. It
can be a little crazy on that level also depending on the time of day. If you are picking up a lot of people, it may be easier to just park in the
first-floor parking area and walk into the terminal to meet.

Park off airport close by. Have them text you when they are heading up to the 2nd level .... Zoom in and get 'em. Works for us.

I agree with Bob...only thing I would add, after they come out of the custom's security area have them go up the escalator then turn right to go
outside. Turn right again and walk all the way down to the last door area. Usually it is not as crowded there.
The hubby usually hangs out at the OXXO store inside the airport until I text him.
Just be sure to check the airline's website to confirm their flight is on time.

Good tips thanks.
Made it to loreto bay hotel.
Had road drama about 80km north of loreto.
Got ran off the road trying to pass a big rv towing a compact car. Put my blinker on and went for the pass but he didn’t see me. Very lucky it was
flat and clear to the left. Didn’t even blow my alignment or flat a tire, but I must have been going 40mph at least when I went off the pavement.
Checked my lugs and kept going after talking to the rv driver who stopped and said he didn’t see me. Was an older guy but not trying to blame it on
age. He said he was just trying to drive in the middle where the road was better. I am in a Toyota Tacoma with some extra suspension and big tires
which probably helped but mostly lucky I didn’t hit a ditch or rock. Super lucky it wasn’t worse.
I heard another story about a guy trying to pass who didn’t look behind and another car was already starting to pass and they got in an accident.
Maybe I need to start giving a friendly honk on a pass when I don’t get a blinker from the guy in front… it was sketchy to start having a huge rv
start cutting me off while on the gas committed to passing. If there wasn’t flat dirt on the left we probably would of crashed if that’s what my
instincts would have told me to do.

Dmhoro,
For drivers who know Mexico we come up behind and signal for a left turn. If the guy you are passing knows the rules and sees you, he will signal a
left turn when it’s clear to pass.
Do not signal a left turn if you are making a left turn on a single lane road, rather pull over to the right if possible and make the left turn or
where there’s no shoulder if it’s safe pull into the oncoming lane signal and turn left. I had a friend who was almost killed trying to make a US
left turn
Always check behind before you pull out to make sure no-one’s trying to pass you!
