We are back to masking up in San Carlos. Not so much because of Covid, but because there is a very virulent, severe flu going around down here. Seems
like there is one every year down here.

So do masks really work? “Yes,” said Dr. Waleed Javaid, epidemiologist and director of infection prevention and control at Mount Sinai Downtown in
New York City. “As we saw during this COVID pandemic, when we had increased use of masks, we saw a decrease in all respiratory infections.”

What astounds me is that anyone needs to be convinced that they work. Doctors and nurses wouldn't have been wearing them for the past 100 years if
they didn't and there have been so many scientific studies published since Covid reared its ugly head that prove they hugely reduce transmission. Not
to mention as soon as masking mandates are dropped, the Covid rate jumps.

 S,

Please argue with the Canadians who published this study, not me!

 https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24741720/

 “ KEY FINDINGS
The use of surgical face masks by staff in the operating room is presumed to reduce the frequency of surgical site infections. The evidence identified
and included in this report finds no evidence basis for this presumption. The consensus of the systematic reviews included in this report is that
there is a paucity of data on this topic, and that current evidence is lacking for altering clinical practice. The included guidelines of this report
are also in agreement that the long standing practice of wearing surgical face masks in the operating room should continue despite the lack of
clinical efficacy evidence.

No evidence was identified that examined a potential role for surgical face masks in protecting staff from infectious material encountered in the
operating room. In the absence of available clinical evidence the guidelines recommend wearing masks of a type suitable to the procedure being
performed and in accordance with applicable health and safety regulations.”

If you had a nickel for every lie this guy has told the American public over the last 3 years you'd be able to buy a nice $500 lunch/drinks at Nobu in
Malibu.

Just came from Lays market in Loreto where there was an employee at the door asking everyone entering to put on a mask. I wasn't carrying one and he
just nodded and let me go in. He was asking everyone entering for a mask but was lax on the enforcement. It could just be a warning today with a
requirement to follow in days. I would say that it was 50/50 on mask wearing in the market with all employees wearing one.
