Lost permanent resident card
Anyone here ever lost a PR card and if so what did you have to do to replace it? I have scans of the card which shows the numbers and the picture.
Off grid, 12-190 watt evergreen solar panels on solar trackers, 2-3648 stacked Outback inverters, 610ah LiFePo4 48v battery bank, FM 60 and MX60
Outback charge controllers, X-240 Outback transformer for 240v from inverters, 6500 watt Kubota diesel generator.

Thank you BG. Do you know of a person or immigration official that will assist in the handling of all this? It looks like a PITA but that is my
punishment for being stupid.

Any immigration official at your nearest INM office can deal with this. It isn't something that requires assistance from anyone or a specific INM
agent. Just go into the INM office with the copy of your residency and they will tell you what needs to happen to get a new card. The link posted
above tells you what documentation you need to submit.

My wife had her purse stolen in Ensenada which included her permanent resident card. We went to the immigration office in San Felipe and showed her
the receipt and visa from the first one (luckily she only lost her US passport card, not her passport which had the visa), filled out some forms, and
paid a fee. She processed it and said it would be 6 weeks and she would call us. That was 8 weeks ago. The card might be in but they have not
called and we won't be able to get down there until March. BTW, after that we flew from Phx to Pto Vallarta and immigration there took some time and
a supervisor to go through her paperwork showing a replacement card was in process. Both passports were flagged and they knew we had permanent
residency cards and wanted to see them. I had mine.

No they saw the visa glued into the passport and then asked to see our permanent residency card. They told me in the future, when I fly into Mexico I
should go to the mexican citizen line and only show them this card. Good to know since there was no line there and about 200 in the foreigners line.

Hey Larry,
Happy New Year.
We had that experience in Vallarta ( a portion of my family ).
We went into INM, they interviewed those of us with the lost cards and made us swear they were not stolen, just lost.
They asked us multiple times while emphasizing that if they were stolen that we needed a police report.
Long story short, some paperwork, basically paying the same as the original visa amount and new pictures and we were done.
I'm not sure what office you'd deal with but the one where we live can print the new cards up right then and there.
Been a long journey since we were neighbors in Bahia.

Our friend in La Bocana, BCS misplaced hers (and months later found it). She went to Santa Rosalia, paid a bit and picked it up when ready. I am not
sure how long it took but it was an easy process.

My wife lost hers a while back. She had to go through the whole process over again as if she never had PR status. This was in Cabo. So my advice is to
expect the worst and anything short of that is a bonus. It will be a different experience at every location. She had to go to embassy in San Diego and
they lost her paperwork etc. Total CF.
Pay an expediter who know the ropes. It will be money well spent.
No b-tchin\' in the Baja.

My neighbor lost his. He had to pay the same amount as it cost for the PR the first time, but he didn't have to go through the application process
again nor go to a consulate outside Mexico. It was all handled at the local INM office.

The inm office in SF is just north of the fuel station on the east side of the northernmost roundabout, across the alley from the back of the fuel
station. Small mostly unmarked place, through a chain link gate that will be open if they are open.
