CBX questions
New to CBX:
have Volaris flight leaving at 10:28am, how early does our flight need to arrive at San Diego airport in order to make the Volaris flight? Assume a
taxi as it is the quickest, about 30 minutes.
Thanks

We have used CBX quite a bit over the years. We get to the parking lot 2hrs before our flight, haven't had a problem yet.
BUT.....if those lines fill up the way they have it roped off it could be a different story. They have built the whole place up really well,
expecting a huge influx of flights/travelers

Well, you're probably supposed to check in for your Volaris flight a couple hours prior, right? And an hour to leave the airport and get to the
border. (De-plane, shuffle through escalators, down to the street, catch a cab (will be waiting)). You'll need to spend some time getting an FMM, get
through baggage inspection. IMO at least arrive SD airport at least 6:30 am. Even that would make me nervous. How about arrive the day before? Stay
downtown, get an Uber.

SWMBO ix-nayed getting up at 3:00am in order to catch the 5:15am flight to SAN. So we are going down the night before. Have you seen the prices for
4-star hotels in the Gaslight district? More expensive than the entire Volaris flight, for christ's sakes.

If you're doing this soon, ComicCon is in town (downtown) - talk about ix-nay. Ends Jul. 24. I suggested downtown because you can easily get the bus
No. 992 from airport into downtown. But there is another airport "Flyer" shuttle that's free that goes to Old Town transit center/trolley station- a
couple hotels walking distance from there, or take the trolley into Mission Valley hotels. Better, once off the 992 bus at the America Plaza/Santa Fe
stop, you could take the trolley south to Chula Vista or National City - hotels near the trolley stops. Then trolley into SY, taxi to TJ airport (or
a little shorter Uber ride from Chula Vista to Otay).
