Festival International Cervantino in Guanajuato?

We are traveling to the Festival this year, first time in Guanajuato. Late October; flights and hotels are booked but all the restaurants will not take reservations during the festival. Have concerts booked at the Teatro Juarez and two other spots later in the weekend. Anyone been there before and have any tips?
Flying into Leon and cabbing it into the Historical District. Our friends are flying into Guadalajara the day before us and bussing into the city.

We always have dinner at La Trattoria centro. Really great Italian /med food. Get an upstairs balcony table for some excellent views and people watching.

This is on my Mexico bucket list.

One that I did manage to cross off my bucket list was Dia De Los Muertos in Oaxaca

WOW!

If you go...take the Oaxaca Eats, tour!
