A combination of failing eyesight, fat fingers, and sciatic pain had me type the year 2917 instead of 2017 (9 and 0 are next to each other on my
keyboard).
Thank you Bob for the humor this morning.
On Wednesday, they will attempt (for a second time) to burst the cyst growing on my spine... Please send positive energy my way!
Thank you!!

And I was whining because four or five hours running a chainsaw is about all I can handle these days!

Thank you, friends!
Those who chatted with me at the Baja Expo knew I had just undergone the first attempt, three days prior and was trying very much to be positive that
it would soon be better. Alas, no joy.
This time, two needles will be inserted instead of one!
Oh goodie!

AN UPDATE on my spinal cyst/ sciatic nerve fix
Hi gang,
While this seems to be an odd thread to discuss my health issues, let me give those interested an update:
The new procedure was last Wednesday, Nov. 15. It was called a 'facet joint injection' and is used to add pain killer to the nerve area and try to
reduce the cyst size (in my case). The used Versed to 'knock me out' so they could insert a couple of 'massive' needles, lol! They rolled me in at 11
am and I woke back up at 1 pm.
Here is how it is described:
Successful CT guided right L4-5 facet joint and interlaminar injection with presumed cyst rupture. 80 mg of depo-medrol and 1 mL of 0.5%
bupivacaine were injected. A total of 2-mL of contrast were also injected.
Cool, right?
Right away, the sciatic pain in my leg & hip was greatly reduced, but still something there... perhaps a shadow or memory of pain persisting?
Anyway, now four days later, some muscle pain that Naproxen seems to help with. Giving the Norco a break, finally!
Compared to the first time they tried to burst the cyst (Sept. 27), I am much more comfortable. Fingers crossed it lasts!
If not, the the back surgeon will dig out the cyst and shave the disc bulge there too. L4-L5 seems to be a very common place for us old people to get
nerve P-nches!
My advice: DON'T GET OLD!
Of course, it would have been wised to be eating fewer carne asada burritos and frijoles, when you are younger... and Tecate Light instead of Tecate
(heavy)!
Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Of the needles they inserted? No, sorry... I couldn't bring a camera into the CT Scan!
There were only small band-aids over the two holes... which soon vanished, as far as I know! Now, the IV insertion was much bigger and a lot of blood
came out when I removed that larger patch... too soon!

5 hours on a larger saw is a lot...even for younger men. You must be in good shape.
An hour and a half with a
saw is all i feel like doing these days

What I should have said is that four or five hours is a days work. Part of those hours are spent running medium and small saws while using my
mini-excavator to do the lifting and moving limbs and logs.
