Saint Inez greeter

There used to be a guy that would ride a 3 wheeler with a Pomeranian in the afternoon at St Inez to talk with all the new visitors. I think his name was Ralph and he was an amateur radio operator. Is he still with us and if so anyone know his call letters? Chuck K7BVT

On 10-14-20, JohnMcfrog posted a photo of Ralph in this thread about Santa Ynez: https://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=92284

I also reached out to 'Elena La Loca' (Nomad Ham operator who used to provide updates from Ralph) for any news.

From Elena La Loca this morning:

I have no current information on the status of Ralph/Pat. Maybe Matilde @ Rancho Santa Ynés or her daughter Linda could provide that for you. Merry Christmas.

Ralph has long been a figure in the fall and winter months at the rancho but he is probably pushing his late 80's + about now . He was always a gentleman and a very interesting person to talk to. I have not been by the ranch since shortly after Oscar passed which was some time ago so I don't have any current info.
My suggestion to you is to look up the ham directory for Ramah NM , where I believe he resided .

Ralph, Lowell R Schoonmaker, N6MNO Ramah NM was what I was looking for. Ramah NM looks like it might be more remote than St Inez. FCC log says he was born in 1933 so he is 90 this year. He is one of the more interesting people I have met in Baja.

Thanks for suggestions and help.
