"whistle"

Today's Word of the Day from SpanishDictionary.com was silbar, which it translated as "whistle." In Mexico and Puerto Rico I have only heard the word chiflar used for this purpose. I'm guessing there might be others. Anyone?

The late Nomad 'Whistler' (Glen) had mentioned his handle in Spanish was 'Chiflador' (as I recall). His last post was in 2018. Glen was a great guy and good friend... we traveled to Baja together once and he helped the people of Punta Abreojos, even starting an off road race group and building a Class 7 truck after he retired from the aerospace industry.

We met at the San Clemente Pier get-together, in 2000 (where many future Nomads met who were on 'Amigos de Baja' then)...
