I have been meaning to stop for more years than I can recall and shoot a pic of that old building with the Make America Mexico Again sign.
It is a bit faded these days. Aren't we all? haha
Happy New Year my fellow Baja loving amigos.

Last photo title: "It's a Jeep thing" LOL
Deflating is always good, but better done before the deep sand!

Thanks StuckSucks. Not looking faded at all.
I guess avoiding the potholes must have distracted me from seeing this oldy but goody roadside attraction.
Next time I will have to pullover and stop.

Those last two road pics with the Toyota's looks like you drove by San Evaristo. Did you take the road into the village as well?
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

We did. We tried to stay at CabaƱas del Cortes, but unfortunately, they were booked.

Did you eat or visit at Lupe Sierra & Maggie's place? (Not the exact name)

The statue of San Evaristo
To give an idea of the scale of that sculpture, the band that stretches behind his hands appeared to be a 55-gallon drum with the ends removed, then
rolled out almost flat.

We did not. I wanted to, but others with me outvoted me. So we opted for crappy food at our La Paz hotel (we were supposed to camp but it was very
windy; we aborted).

Well, I'm guilty of that, sometimes. "Do I *really* need to air down, just for this little bit of beach driving...?"
But I don't sit there spinning my tires until my axles are sitting on the sand. If I start losing forward momentum, I stop and air down.
On beaches like that which slope down to the water, I'm faced with a quandary. I can often get moving again by rolling somewhat downhill -- get some
momentum going before gradually steering uphill again. But then if I do get stuck again I'm even closer to the menacing water. Fun times!

That so reminds me of when Art (edm1) was stuck on Shell Island in his 4x4 van/ motorhome. Ken Cooke and I were expecting him and when he was late, we
hopped in my Tacoma and found him, a mile or two from our camp. Convinced him to let MORE air out, and then steer down towards the water... He
resisted, but in the end, was so happy to achieve floatation!!!

A few more of the East Cape stuckee.
While I offered to pull him out, he seemed insistent on using a winch. The RZR on the left had a winch, but he couldn't deploy the line.
There was an ebb tide for about 90 more minutes.

A winch and security guards finally arrived from the nearby Punta Pescadero Hotel to extract the guy.
