Cerveza "growler" fills in baja?

Anyone have a list or know of which microbreweries south of the border fill growlers*?

I would love to support the local guys TJ and Ensenada. Man cannot live on XX and Bohemia alone.

* Growler: "a pail or other container used for carrying drink, especially draft beer".

Most of the microbreweries are operating on 3-bbl. pilot batch systems so it's unlikely that any of them do. But you can buy bottles from anyplace licensed to open them, so La Tasca, La Tasca de la 6ta, Beer Box, BCB, Wendlandt, the bottle shop at Finca Altozano, etc., etc.

You can get growler fills at both Baja Brewing locations (in CSL and SJC) and also now at this brewery that just opened last week in San Jose del Cabo:

When The Distillery was open in Todos Santos, they would fill up growlers with the Baja Brewery beer of your choice. Their original location was destroyed by Hurricane Odile, but their website suggests that they will be reopening soon, and I wouldn't be surprised if they continued the practice.

Their new location opens tomorrow complete with wine, beer, mezcal, beer, and tequila. Basically a drunkards dream.
It's about 2 minutes north of their old location.

confirmed Friday that the Wendlandt Brewery in Sauzal (did not try the brewpub downtown) filled growlers.

200 pesos for a 2 liter growler, and they charged me 100 pesos for the 1 liter growler I brought in. Mint Chocolate Stout.

Nice brewery. Heading south from toll booth, were you loop to go east to wine country and Tecate, go west to the coast instead. Not well marked building end of the road on the south side.

Guy at Wendlandt said the Aguamala brewery also fills growlers.Container buildings south of La Stella pizza on the west side. Going to try it next time.

That's great news! When we next visit Baja in January, we'll be staying in El Pescadero, but we'll be sure to drop in on The Distillery via the freshly completed paved road through town.

;D

bump -

went to Aguamala brewery the other day and they also are filling growlers.

Real nice place - not well marked. Carretera Tijuana - Ensenada Km 104
just south of Hotel California

http://aguamala.com.mx/?page_id=23&lang=en

Its quite the happening spot - good sized crowd on a Friday afternoon.

Good beers and good selection

pretty good one. One of their seasonal beers I think.

If you think thats weird, Wendlandt did an "Oyster Stout" collaboration beer with ChuckAlek brewery in Ramona.
