Too true, but the fact is if they'd offer a pre-pay and cert. service at the same time so you didn't need the 'rubber stamp' and pay the $26 at a bank
or kiosk now THAT would be a wonderful thing, don't you agree?

Then they (Mexico) couldn't verify your passport

Never have had a problem at the new entry at San Ysidro. Probably took 15 minutes at most.

That would be taking somebody's ricebowl..INM wouldn't give up their authority to the bank or Aduana......the two agencies don't cooperate as it is
now

Maybe I'm the unluckiest guy when getting FMMs at San Ysidro but, in addition to the line of two busloads of people I once ran into, I also couldn't
get one once because the computers weren't working.
I asked when I should come back and was told maybe two hours, maybe tomorrow.
I believe getting one online would have alleviated the problem in both cases.
However the problems weren't large because both times I proceeded into Mexico anyway.

Did have a few occasions when we got stuck at the border because of the bus traffic during whale season. Same happens when you were thinking about
staying in Catavina. Just seems to me that the Mexican IMM could create another office to deal with the bus traffic.

I agree...building another facility would be sooo much easier than offering online FMM's
